parktown, accommodation, guesthouse, kitson house, sir herbert baker

This upmarket elegant and genteel guesthouse is housed in one of the first cottages designed by the famous architect, Sir Herbert Baker in 1903. It is situated in Parktown, Johannesburg, South Africa. It has been carefully restored and decorated to capture the charm of a by-gone era. Conveniently situated 500m from the M1 highway, on the doorstep of Wits University, Donny Gordon Medical Institute and the Milpark Hospital, the guesthouse is centrally located providing the business executive and the leisure traveller with easy access to the Johannesburg CBD, Rosebank, Sandton and the OR Tambo International Airport.

Breakfast is served in a sunny diningroom which opens onto a tranquil courtyard where meals can be enjoyed weather permitting. Lunch and dinner is available on request and intimate corporate lunches and break away meetings can be easily arranged.

An ambience of luxury is epitomised by down duvets, pure cotton linen, fluffy bath robes and Victorian baths.  Enjoy a complimentary sherry on the ‘stoep’ on a warm summer evening or curl up next to a fireplace on chilly Highveld nights.
